Why does the light turn on?

Electricity only flows in a full loop.

How do circuits work? (the 1-minute version)

A battery is a little pump for electric charge. It pushes charges out of one end, through the wires, and pulls them back in at the other end. The push only works when the wires form one complete loop — out, around, and back. Put a bulb in the loop and the moving charges heat its filament until it glows: the light is on. Break the loop anywhere — a cut wire, a gap, an open switch — and everything stops instantly. That's the whole trick behind every light switch in your house: the switch is just a tiny drawbridge for the loop.

What your child does here

  1. Learn: six illustrated scenes, each narrated out loud — the battery that pushes, the loop that lights, the gap that stops, the switch that decides — ending with a look inside a real motorbike's wiring.
  2. Play: the circuit builder. Each level is a grid of wire tiles, a battery, bulbs and switches; tap tiles to rotate them until one closed loop lights every bulb. Ten levels, one to four bulbs, fewest taps earns three stars.
  3. Quiz: four questions with friendly hints — no wrong-answer buzzers. Finishing earns a bronze, silver or gold circuits badge.
  4. Daily spark: one shared puzzle a day, the same for every player — a small reason to come back tomorrow.
